A landmark institution of Golden City City Jaisalmer, Kendriya Vidyalaya Border Security Force, Jaisalmer commenced its journey in the year 1996 coming under Defence sector. The concept of Kendriya Vidyalayas took form to provide Quality Education to the wards of transferable Central Government Employees, but now these Vidyalayas cater the educational needs of all sections of society.

2	Important milestones of growth	The Vidyalaya was upgraded in 2007 upto class XI (Science stream) The result of CBSE class X was 100% in the first session 2007-08 Master Dheeraj Yadav scored 79.4 % in class X CBSE Exam In session 2008-09 Master Anand has won the Gold medal in shooting at regional  level. Kumari Rashmi Parva Dash scored 86.2 % in CBSE Class XII exam 2009. Master G. Ugaram Reddy scored 86.2 % in CBSE Class X exam 2009. The Vidyalaya won three gold medal in regional sports meets-2009. The Vidyalaya  won bronze medal in athletics at national level. The students of this Vidyalaya won two  the gold medal in science Olympiad. The strength increases first time upto 435 in session 2009-10.
3	Gradual year wise expansion in classes and sections leading to present status	The school was established in 1996. The school was started in  the Berks of BSF campus.  The school was started up to class V The school was shifted in to a new KV building in may 2006 In year 2007 School was upgraded to class XI (Science stream) Session 2008-09 was the first session for class XII (Science stream) In session 2009-10 Commerce stream has  also started.
4	Details of previous and new campus – if applicable- with photos( preferable)	The school was started in the berek of  BSF campus. Previous building has  only 6 rooms. Some classes were taken under sheds. The KVS constructed new building & school was shifted in May, 2006. Present school building is very good & beautiful. Now Vidyalya has 14class rooms, 3 science labs, 1 computer lab, 1 Maths lab, 1 resource room, 1 games room, 1 Music room, 1 Library, 1 teaching aids room and 1 M.I. room.
5	Facilities available including games and sports facilities	Indoor Games: Chess, Table-Tennis, Outdoor Games:  Kho-Kho, Volleyball
